With the exchange rate of the euro currently making Europe an expensive holiday destination this year, is it time for UK holiday makers to bypass last years popular destinations like Tenerife, Spain, Cyprus and the United States for somewhere new?
Two major destinations stand out this year as excellent holiday locations for the budget concious UK holiday maker who wants to save money, but also have a fantastic summer holiday.
Todays holiday destination is Turkey, due in part that it is outside the euro currency zone of Europe (it uses the Turkish New Lira) so your holiday money wil go further.
Beautiful Turkey coastal beach resorts have been very popular over the last few years, but there is plenty to explore inland, especially in Istanbul.
Istanbul is excellent value for money at the moment with the Pound holding its value against the Turkey New Lira, so you can make the most of your holiday budget. Istanbul City Breaks are the fastest-growing city break destination in Europe at the moment, with an increase of over 18% on last year. The best time to visit for the best weather is late April when the tulips are in bloom and the weather is warmer. Flight time from the UK to Istanbul is about 4-hours.
