British Airways has decided to move the remaining long-haul flights  from Terminal 4 to Terminal 5 of London Heathrow in two seperate stages.

The decision was made together  with airport operator BAA that a number of the remaining flights will be moved on September 17th 2008. Flights moving on this day include ones flying to Mumbai, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Philadelphia and Mexico City.

All remaining long-haul flights will then be moved at the end of October following the first set of flights on June 4th.

Terminal 5 had a tough start but is now working well and it is hoped that there will be smooth operations running over the summer period.

Currently, there are 60 daily longhaul arrivals and departures going through Terminal 4 and only 15 from Terminal 5.
