easyJet is to start trialling check-in via handheld devices in the UK in October.
As the demand for flights is still low, airlines are trying to cut costs where ever they can. The cost of renting check-in counters is high so many airlines are looking for alternative methods.
It is doubtful that easyJet will do away with check-in desks completely like Ryanair have but this would be an alternative method of checking-in.
easyJet is always looking at ways to improve the service it offers to customers by using the latest technology and saving them money.
