IATA has surveyed over 10,000 active travellers and has found out that most want to take control of their own travel experiences.

The results showed that 89% of passengers preferred e-tickets to paper ones, 56% had used internet check-in and 69% had used self-service kiosks in the airports.

54% of travellers then went on to say that they wanted more self service options to help cut down on queues.

Many travellers said that they intend to use online booking, online reservation changes, online check-in and self-service check-in in the future.

It is believed that self-service travelling is the way that many people want to go as it is quicker and people have more control over what they do and how they do it.
