Edinburgh Airport will be closing its main runway between 23:00 and 05:45 every day between Sunday 23 September and Saturday 13 October for essential maintenance.
Any aircraft arriving or departing during these time periods will be directed to take off or land using the airport’s cross wind runway. The cross wind runway has a considerably different arrival path and will result in flights making an approach over areas such as South Gyle, Colinton, Fairmilehead and Gilmerton. Residents in these areas should expect to see and hear aircraft closer to their households than would normally be expected.
Any resident who would like to raise concerns about aircraft noise can contact Edinburgh Airport’s 24hour Freephone Noiseline on 0800 731 3397.
