The new main car park at Heathrow in Terminal 5 opens next March and will have a new infrared system that helps you find your car.
The new system features infrared cameras and sensors that read the number plate of a car as it enters the car park. The cameras then take further pictures and store the data of where the car is parked.
There will be car finder kiosks in the car park and all you have to do is type in your registration number or insert your parking ticket. The machine then gives you the cars location.
Illuminated arrows will also be used on the floor to guide you to an empty space.
The new system is said to be environmentally friendly as it will cut emissions as people will not be driving around in circles looking for a space.
