Tourists paying the Caribbean island destination of Puerto Rico a visit will find that the state offers more than just amazing beaches, according to the region’s promotional agency.
The chief marketing officer at the Puerto Rico Tourism Company was keen to point at that, while the island state’s beaches are indeed a major attraction for visitors, there are many more reasons to pay Puerto Rico a visit. Nicole Rodriguez said that the tourism agency had been working in partnership with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic to better promote the island to holidaymakers, and that a new marketing campaign would be launched soon. The campaign will start off in the US, promoting Puerto Rico as a desirable choice for an active and varied holiday, before progressing on to the UK and Europe to boost the profile of the destination and educate people on its attractions.
“Our main goal in the UK market is to let them know that we’re not that far away and second of all that Puerto Rico has a lot more to offer than great beaches,” explained Ms Rodriguez. She went on to say that visitors should either hire a car or set out on walks in order to explore the island and experience it to the full.
As well as the stunning beaches, visitors can enjoy water sports, tennis and horse riding at one of many top-class facilities on the island. The waters surrounding the island also provide ample deep-sea fishing opportunities, or for a more relaxing excursion, travellers can pamper themselves at one of the island’s 17 spas.
