Airports that are operated by the BAA could face a lot of disruption to services in the run up to new year as a ballot for strike action is due to take place.

Members of the union are angry that new staff will not be able to join the final salary pensions scheme from December 1st and have now decided that a strike may be the best way to get their message across. The staff involved are firefighters, security, maintenance and administration.

BAA bosses have said that their door is open for negotiation although whether or not this stops the strike we do not know.

BAA is asking for anyone that wants to keep the airport up and running, support passengers and make their journeys pleasant to come forward and help should the strikes occur.
