Fans of aviation and aeronautics might want to book their holidays around the Singapore Airshow in 2012, as the large event is billed as one of the top three of its kind anywhere in the world.
The exhibition and display will take place in February 2012 at the Changi Exhibition Centre, close to the Central Business District of Singapore, and will give both trade and public visitors chance to see some of the world’s most advanced commercial and military aircraft up close. As well as the static displays, visitors can also enjoy watching various aircraft in aerobatic manoeuvres during the in-flight demonstrations. The final two days of the event, which runs from 14 to 19 February, are open to public visitors, while the first three days are for trade visitors only.
The Singapore Airshow is the biggest aerospace and defence expo in Asia, and guests will see aircraft such as the Cessna Citation Sovereign jet on display – a super-midsize business jet with over 5,000km range. The Embraer Phenom 100 and Dassault Falcon 7X will also be on display in the static displays, allowing visitors to get a real close-up look. For the first time, a display of unmanned aircraft will also feature at the show, giving guests the chance to see surveillance drones and other examples of cutting-edge aeronautical technology.
Military buffs will also enjoy the event’s Land Defence Pavilion, showcasing land defence technology such as tanks and other special forces equipment. Those with an interest in the sustainable future of aviation will appreciate the Green Pavilion, showcasing the industry’s most advanced solutions to the problem of environmental impact.
